The 2nd XV started their season with a win over Donaghadee 2s at Stormont. In his first game as captain, Hamish Matheson was amongst the try scorers in a great battle against a familiar rival.

Service did their usual, conceding an early try before waking up. The game, being played on the 2nds pitch, was moved to the 1st pitch after an injury to a Dee played, we wish him a speedy recovery.

The larger pitched helped Service unleash some attractive running rugby, which isn't always a sentence that comes to mind for the 2s. Trys from the afformentioned Captain Matheson, as well as the new slim and improved Stephen Nellins, as well as English Nathan, saw Service take a commanding lead. Dee got a lagey try with the last kick off the game when Service were already mentally in the bar.

A great start to the season, and long may it continue.
